Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast in history to be awarded a perfect score of 10 in an Olympic competition. Bela Karrolyi who was the Romanian gymnastics instructor who would become Comaneci's coach later on she discovered her when she was six. The year 1969 was the first time she competed in the Romanian Junior Games and placed 13th. She won in 1970. In 1972, at an event for communist-controlled countries' junior athletes before the Olympics she took home 3 gold and silver medals. After that, in 1973 and '74 she was the all-around junior champ. She took home four gold medals and one silver in her debut competition as a senior, held in 1975. This was the first time she participated as an adult. She took home the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games and was the first female in history to dismount the parallel bars with a double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager, she began performing in traveling shows like Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne born 6 September 1942 Chicago Illinois US. Carol started her career in entertainment as a teenager. She began her career by joining her sister Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling spectacle of entertainment. The show featured dramatic ice skating shows.
