Meredith Salenger, born March 14th, 1970 in Malibu California United States is one of Hollywood's best known and richest actors. When she was 15, Decker was in Georgia. She had begun writing songs and she was making regular trips to Nashville to make the rounds of record firms and music publishers, looking for an agreement. An agent from the independent label Big Yellow Dog Records heard her at 17 and started selling her music to other labels. When Mercury Records president David Massey heard Decker's demos he passed her work to L.A. Reid head of the associated Island/Def Jam label group and Reid has signed her to the terms of a recording contract. Jessie James released her debut album in the month of August. It was a self-titled effort. Jessie James had a moderately successful debut record. Wanted, a song that was on the album made it to the Top 40 singles chart. Decker was always a Country performer, but the album was made and was promoted was designed with the attention of pop fans in mind. Her music came under increased scrutinization following the release of two singles. The following track, Boys in the Summer featured a typical country sound. Decker's second album, which was announced in the form of Daughter of a Gypsy and Sweet American Dreams by Mercury Records, was cancelled because Mercury noticed the weak performance of three singles by Decker on the charts of country radio.
